The Canadian Pre-Roll Category is the biggest sector of the industry, and one of the most competitive.
With 504 distinct pre-roll brands in the point-of-sales data tracked by cannabis analytics firm Headset, the battle for shelf space is constant, with old favorites and new players jockeying for the same dollars.
So who is winning? What are the top pre-roll brands in Canada? And what are the fastest-growing pre-roll brands in Canada?
Let's dive in. We'll start with the top brands and fastest-growing brands of 2025, and then get into the numbers so far in 2026.
Top Canadian Pre-Roll Brands of 2025
In Canada, pre-rolls are a $1.43 billion market, selling 77.2 million units in 2025. And one brand in particular easily tops the sales charts in both metrics, though there are signs that new brands will be nipping at its heels sooner than later. In fact, several of Canada's best-known pre-roll brands saw a similar drop off in 2025 as new brands rose to take their place.
General Admission is by far the single largest pre-roll brand in Canada, raking in $107.8 million on sales of 3.8 million units. But both of those numbers are down from the year before by large percentages. Revenue was down 26.5% while unit sales dropped 31.8%.
Other legacy pre-roll brands felt a similar sting. Shred, for example, also saw a year-over-year drop of 37.9%, finishing the year with $36.1 million in sales. Unit sales also dropped to 1.4 million, down 44.4% from 2024.
Good Supply saw an 18.2% drop in revenue in 2025 (down to $35.7 million), and a 9.2% drop in unit sales.
Spinach, another legacy pre-roll brand, also saw revenues drop 17.6% in 2025 and unit sales drop 10.2%.
However, not all legacy brands faced down years. For example, Back Forty, one of the country's oldest and most successful pre-roll brands, saw revenue growth of 43.7% ($71.3 million) and unit sales growth of 32.5% (3.1 million units).
And though not necessarily a Canadian legacy brand, Jeeter moved into the market in 2024 and continued its climb up the charts, growing revenues 32.6% to $62.6 million, good enough for third place, and seeing unit sales grow 32.7% to about 1.9 million.
